Hawaii State Board of Cosmetology License Information
In order to obtain a license in cosmetology, nail technology, esthetics, or barbering in the state of Hawaii, students must complete the requirements listed below. Please contact the Hawaii State Board of Cosmetology for more information.
Requirements
COSMETOLOGIST: 1800 Hours, apprenticeship 3600 hours
BARBERING: 1500 hours
ESTHETICIAN: 600 Hours, apprenticeship 1100 hours
NAIL TECHNICIAN: 350 Hours, apprenticeship 700 hours
Reciprocity
Granted to all with a current license from a State with equal or greater requirements. Work experience is a consideration if you have less schooling than required. Home salon and Mobile salon allowed.
