Nevada State Board of Cosmetology License Information
In order to obtain a license in cosmetology, nail technology, or esthetics in the state of Nevada, students must complete the requirements listed below. Please contact the Nevada Board of Cosmetology for more information.
Requirements
COSMETOLOGIST: 1800 hours
HAIR DESIGNER: 1200 hours
ESTHETICIAN: 600 hours
NAIL TECHNICIAN: 500 hours
ELECTROLOGIST: 500 hours, plus 1000 hours of practical experience
Additional Requirements
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have the equivalent of a 10th grade education.
Reciprocity
All applicants must apply to the board, enclose $100.00, be at least 18 years of age and have the equivalent of a 10th grade education. The applicant must have passed a nationally recognized written test in the state of licensure. The applicant must hold a current license.
